To My Dearest Mama,
Here is a man who has constantly worked towards impacting people from all walks of life positively. He has touched every single person positively whom he has come in touch with.
I miss my wonderful conversation with him, his constant teaching and coaching has impacted me so much positively that trying to do one thing that he always strived easily gives me so much joy.
I miss our Google chat with Mama almost every 2 days.
Mama, I still cannot believe that he is not with us anymore, but we know that you are up there in a very special place looking at us and guiding us in every step we take.

I would like to share a few memories of my visits to Hyderabad / Secunderabad to visit Chitappa and family
Summer of 1971, I went to chitappa’s house which coincided with Krishna’s poonal as well. Usha and I are only a month apart in age. We were both 10 then, the house was packed with chitappa’s sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. I was so embarrassed by my unruly and wild behaviour and fights both physical and verbal with Usha. It put me to shame that I refused to face the people in Secunderbad and didn’t plan the next visit until 1978, winter break from Delhi when I was 18. Raji our cousin from Tirunelveli had also come there. We had a great time together.
Every visit there after or even when we met elsewhere I always found my favourite Chitappa ‘cool’ (even the modern slang would apply to him), composed and ever smiling. No matter what, I have never seen him get angry with anyone at anytime.
I always thought Chitti and Chittappa were the perfect, ideal couple who complemented each other very well. I guess, any person who has had such a long and constant association with him would imbibe all his great qualities. (they known each other for more than 50 years)
He was of immense help when I went there to Hyderabad when Venkat’s niece’s husband passed away in 1993 August and brother-in-law Jayaram passed away in 1997 November. Jayaram Athimber who was his student, would often recollect with fondness and narrate the days when he was a student taught by Chittappa.
After 1997 there was a long gap, I did not visit Hyderabad to meet this dear Chittappa. I do not know what gut feeling I had, but I very strongly felt I must visit them in 2007 March. I bought a one way ticket from Abu Dhabi and flew to Hyderabad. As I walked out of the airport I saw the ever smiling face of Chitappa and Chitti who had come to receive me. It was a brief stay of two days but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am so happy to have had the opportunity of visiting them before it was too late.
He was perfect example of ‘HURT NEVER HELP EVER” one has to learn from him his modesty and willingness for putting others before himself. Its hard to find such a gem of a person like him and I am very proud he belongs to our family. He will always be cherished with love in our hearts. May he be an inspiration to all of us who deeply miss him.
